Simon Field: Deep of color and with an attractive floral profile; violets and gum cistus and a hint of elderflower, firm balancing acidity and a gentle edifying lift; licorice and tobacco, fruits of the forest and even a hint of iodine. An interesting wine, generous and a tad challenging; well made and worthy of further analysis over the years to come. | 91
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red with purple glints; opaque still. Fresh, sweet, creamy, with lots of precise fruit scents and some green tea leaf, too: an almost zesty aromatic charm. On the palate, this is pure, deep, pristine in terms of primary fruit, though also simple and hugely energetic, with rather biting tannins and finish at present. | 85
Richard Mayson: Deep center, thin, youthful purple rim; another rather withdrawn and sullen 2007 on the nose, a touch dusty; lovely pure berry fruit initially, more expressive on the palate than on the nose, firm tannins rising in the mouth leading to a tight linear finish, shows real promise for a long future. 2025–60. | 92
