Simon Field: Black cherry, tar, and fruits of the forest; hedgerow and a gentle lift; the alcohol is in charge at the moment, a spirity fiery kick at the back. There’s an almost resinous grip holding up the structure. A little awkward nonetheless. | 88
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red, but without the brilliant midnight glow of the best of its peers. Exuberant, but rather simple rubbery fruits, with some burned raisin. Soft, sweet, full, with the same pattern of almost-burned generosity of fruit. Not great Vintage Port, but an enjoyable wine nonetheless. | 83
Richard Mayson: Mid-deep in color, youthful purple rim; closed and withdrawn on the nose, tight-knit, with underlying intensity; relatively soft and open on the palate, good berry-fruit character backed by firm, spicy tannins which linger onto the finish. Good middle to heavy weight that will be ready relatively early but has the balance to last and last. 2023–60. | 93
