Simon Field: Rich colour, but a clumsy nose. The winemaking has invaded the integrity of the wine and left a somewhat emasculated texture; hot and ungainly, and rather coarse on the finish. 10.5
Andrew Jefford: Slightly less black in with the red here, and opacity not over yet. Fresh, vivid blackcurrant scents. Generous, sweet, fresh, with excellent fruit definition, though not really the insolent tannic power you want from a great Port in a great vintage. Good for mid-term drinking, though, and you cannot fault fruit definition of this quality. 16
Richard Mayson: Very deep opaque centre, thin crimson rim. Still closed but there is an underlying purity of fruit beginning to emerge. Very fine, elegant fleshy fruit initially, with firm tannins rising in the mouth, leading to a fine, firm finish. Drink 2010-2025. 17
