Simon Field: Delicate, near tawny colouring, quite robust and assertive on the nose; prunes and figs. Gently, pleasingly volatile. In the mouth, the spirit holds court, with tertiary fruit slight masked. Clearly built to last and clearly lasting very well, but lacks elegance of the very best examples. 16.5
Andrew Jefford: Medium clarity and resonance; good depth of colour still. A slightly fresher style of fruit than some of its peers. The ghost of cherries past... smooth, silky yet voluptuous, with lots of svelte warm weight behind. Fully mature in terms of flavour, harmony and tannic evolution, yet no sign of it beginning to lose flesh. Liquorice aftertaste. 16
Richard Mayson: Mid-pale brick-red centre, distinctly tawny rim. Soft, seductive milk-chocolate aromas, though rather spirity. Fully mature. Soft, sweet and fully mature on the palate - creamy. Tannins evident but falling away. Very elegant and perfect to drink now and over the next ten years and beyond. 16
