Essi Avellan | Very sweet nose, with dried-apricot and honey tones reminiscent of botrytis. A subtle toasty whiff, too, but the fruitiness is not 100 percent clean. The severely dry palate is quite a contrast to the sweet nose. No problems with oxidation, though, just a matter of balance. |90

Simon Field | Refined and strident; hints of tobacco ash and woodsmoke evidenced; the palate lulls and soothes, its high acidity potently rendered, its fruit character almost tannic in its stone-fruit intensity. Hard to judge today—give it five years, maybe.| 90
