Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Fairly developed, decadent, leather and tobacco nose with small red fruits and some oriental spices. Medium body, a touch green on the mid-palate. Fairly long, tobacco-leaf finish. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Deep translucent black-red with some bricking becoming apparent. Deep-hued, nonetheless. Warm, sweet, graceful, and well-rounded aromas, with no false notes or dryness, and with the classic woodland complexities creeping into the warmly modulated fruits: a fine aroma among its cohort. The breathing land at sunset—the kind of thing you hope to smell in a Brunello. Very full for the vintage, very open, soft, graceful and stately, with lovely engraved complexities to it; the aging process has been brilliantly overseen here, and the fruit is really impressive for the year. Perfect poise, discretion, and quiet allusiveness. Well done. | 93
Michael Palij | The nose shows a refined elegance, with perfectly judged oak aligned to a broad spectrum of fruit including blueberry, black plum, tar, forest floor, leather, dog rose, black currant, and cranberry. This is a very serious example, with a refined and elegant finish, and a superb balance between the tannins and acidity. This can develop further. | 95
