Nicolas Belfrage | Relatively deep, hints of garnet on the rim. Coffee and woodsmoke on the nose, attractive if not particularly vinous. But plenty of sweet, succulent fruit on the tongue and throughout the mouth; showing alcohol on the finish, but also dark berry fruit and tobacco. Curiously, though structured, it drinks well now—but it should also last well. | 93
Bruno Besa | Deep garnet to pink. Closed, slightly disjointed nose, with mature black and red fruits and hints of smoke and dump earth. A touch green on the palate. Not showing its best today. | 88
Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red, though clear and not opaque. Warm, refined, with some secondary allusiveness; almost “claretty” in that sense. Attractive and harmonious blend of ripe red fruits, some unintrusive wood handling, floral touches, and a little creamy charm, too. On the palate, the wood now seems a little more intrusive than it did on the nose—or perhaps this is a vintage where the generally shy fruits struggle to keep up. It’s round and ripe, but not particularly concentrated, deep, or structured. | 85
