Nicolas Belfrage: Mid-depth, attractive appearance, just turning to orange. Undergrowth and wild fruit on the nose, quite expressive. Lots of flavor and excellent balancing/cleansing acidity, giving the wine a long, quality finish. Good drinking now for Brunello addicts but best to wait three to four years, lay down for 10+. 17.5
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to pink, tawny rim. Complex, mature black-fruit nose, with leather, smoke, cedar wood, and hints of Mediterranean herbs. Medium to full body, with clean, sweet, black and red fruit character, long and refined. Very enjoyable Sangiovese. 17.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep black red. Milky, warm, soft; milled plums behind; the warm forest behind that. Murmuring, not shouting. On the palate, it is a little plainer than the subtle aromatic spectrum had led me to hope, but ripe, round, warm, long, vivid, and vigorous—another wine that just cries out to be drunk before too long while its natural exuberance is still in full flow. Delicious. 16
