BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium deep. Strawberry and blackberry aromas, some oak. Chunky fruit, brambly, good acid but not entirely typical. Goodish wine but not a ringer by any means. 13

Roy Richards Very discreet, sweet fruit, some red fruit comes through. There is even acidity on palate. This is a true believer, not Brunello dressed as Hermitage, and will make old bones. Pity they are few and far between. 18

Franco Ziliani: Dark ruby-violet color. Good concentration, smoky and oaky notes of coffee and spice that hide the fruit, slightly bitter. Good structure but oak tannins are the protagonist and the finish is too dry and astringent. No balance at all. 12.5
