Bruno Besa | Pale ruby to light orange. Restrained, super-delicate nose, with rose water and small red fruits, hints of leather and oriental spices. Medium body, balanced with sweet fruit and a complex, mineral mid-palate. Very inviting wine, with classic character. | 89
Stephen Brook | Medium brick red—quite pale even for Nebbiolo. Lean, perky, redcurrant and raspberry nose. Silky attack and quite concentrated, and ripe tannins give some grip. But it doesn’t evolve on the palate, and it doesn’t soar either. Forward, with moderate persistence. Enjoyable, yes, but far short of greatness. | 85
Andrew Jefford | Pale, light, and clear. Very aromatic, yet very nearly grassy, too. A high-toned wine of elegant but slightly edgy fragrance. That’s what you find on the palate here, which is perhaps a little short, dry, and ungenerous compared to the best of its peers. The fruit definition is slightly raw, too. | 87
