Stephen Brook: Ripe apricot nose, some orange zest, mandarins. Medium-bodied, a touch confected in its sweetness, boiled sweets - then tart acidity kicks in. Not harmonious, and not that dry either. Has a withered finish. 12
Jancis Robinson: Full, broad nose. Lots of depth of flavour and real reverberation. Th is grabs the attention and doesn't let go for a minute. Long, persistent. Resonant. Although this wine clearly has a lot of alcohol, it also has great life and refreshment. 16.5
Alexander Scott: Much more class than Weingut KF Groebe Westhofen Kirchspiel. A note of honey. Very full ripeness but not at all at the expense of zest. This is big, warm and mouth-filling, yet it grips the palate and lingers long. Has the stamp of authority. 18
