Stephen Brook: Drab, earthy nose. Very sweet, opulent, but has charm too; quite intense, not complex, but lovely fruit and some finesse on the finish; hint of boiled sweets too. Good length. 17
Andrew Jefford: Clear gold. Very peachy and rich. Distinctive Rheinhessen style and do not mock: it has enormous charm. Hugely rich: in Pradikat terms, this must surely be well into BA territory. Time will reveal how great it is, and a wait of a decade is on the cards. The sugars impress, since they are fruit-saturated and not empty or idle, but the acidity is perhaps towards the risky end of low. Sugars dominate the finish. 15.5
Jancis Robinson: Racy nose without being terrifically expressive. Round, fully Auslese-like, with masses of flattering lime sherbet fruit. Quite rich and unctuous. A definite success. Good lime acidity underneath. Drink 2008-18. 17
