Stephen Brook: Closed nose, hint of stale apples (could be sulphur dioxide, which I'm not that sensitive to). Very sweet, sappy, creamy; excessive sucrosity for the acidity, rather cloying, boiled sweets, lacks acidity. Quite good length. 13
Andrew Jefford: Encouragingly green in the gold. Not merely the sweet 'fruit rain’-style fruits, but also something doughy or bready behind, to lend a visceral pull to the surface cuteness. Sweet, rounded, concentrated and satisfying, with juicy acidity to keep a sense of the cloying at bay. But once again knocking at the doors of BA: no one will ever want to drink this as an aperitif. 15
Jancis Robinson: Slightly closed nose, but great weight and excitem ent underneath. Racy, rich and unctuous. Not to be ignored! The odd purist will find this too much, but newcomers to German wine should love it. Heavier than [the Wittmann Westhofener Aulerde Auslese ’S’]. Honey and lime. Plus lots of sulphur, Drink 2007-16. 17.5
