Andrew Jefford: Mid-gold. Nice sense of fullness and ripeness here, but not a lot of focus or refinement of aroma. An apple tart baking in the kitchen three rooms away. Vigorous and full, energetic, but lacks the refinement and close-textured density of the very best. Nonetheless, you just can’t dismiss the fruited energy of this exuberant example of the vintage. Lots here for drinkers to enjoy. 16

Simon Larkin : Shows comparatively deep in appearance. The aromas here suggest ripe banana again, almost overblown. Clumsy, cumbersome and poor. Little direction or delineation. Poor - lacking and dismal. 9

Alexander Scott: Broader and looser-knit than the Westhofen Kirchspiel, though it feels as though we’re in the same register. Nicely cool and with a natural mouthfeel, in the context of the vintage, but perhaps less intense. I can’t get excited, but it’s a very good drink. 14
