Simon Field: Densely coloured, this wine has pedigree and breeding on the nose, which is complex and richly fruity. On the palate, the wine is youthful, tannic and rich, yet there are echoes of complexity from the nose that may well win out over the sheer power over time. For better or for worse, very faithful to the vintage. 16.5
Richard Mayson: Fragrant, ripe, slightly floral fruit on the nose; sweet but lacking stuffing on the palate. Sim ple and one-dimensional. 12
Jancis Robinson: Very dark purplish crimson. Quite volatile. Mouth-filling; spreads across the palate in a very convincing way. Lots of dry tannin in stark contrast to the Taylor's served just before it! All the ingredients here. Good, dry finish, yet a very eloquent testament to 2003’s ripeness. 17.5
