Michael Schuster: Panascal’s hallmark, rich, sweet, licorice nose, with a clear mineral character behind; full, fleshy-rich wine, with a firmly tannic frame; deep, sweet, straightforward flavor, with a marked alcoholic warmth to taste; a bit foursquare, lacking aromatic complexity and scope, and with medium length. A slightly muscular fruit-bomb of a style; good rather than special, with a touch of coarseness, still, a lack of finesse in the texture. Plenty of backbone, but a boxer rather than a ballet dancer. Drinkable with pleasure already but will soften further. Now to 2020 (September 2010). 15.5
