Alison Buchanan: Black plum cherry to rim, this is dark but not opaque. Very hot, sweet and earthy fruit comes through on the nose. The palate is ultra-flamboyant – very sweetly fruited with a wonderful, ethereal array of violets and roses. Layers balloon across the palate, with a creamed silky opulence, underpinned by well-integrated, finely grained tannins. 17.5

Jancis Robinson: Dark purple. Spiky (ketone-y) fruit, like bramble jelly. Indeed, a bit ‘jammy’ on the foretaste, with tannins coming through rather too soon. Tannins dominate the finish. No real follow-through. 14

Jeremy Watson: Hint of Syrah or is it jammy? Very good colour all round, with a balance of aromas and flavours that makes a really good drinking wine without being exciting. 16.5
