Andrew Jefford: Mid-gold, but some green in there. Very sappy, sherbetty and fresh, with a beautifully enticing fruit-essence quality. Serene and pure. Lovely depth of fruit here, with notes of both cool apple and early-season nectarine. Pungent and long, with mineral notes towards the finish. A very complete wine that will acquire complexity with time. Impressive. Despite the warmth of the season, a lovely fresh finishing balance here. Less weighty and massive than some, but remarkable levels of fruit extract. 17.5
Simon Larkin : Appearance as for Hernsheim Brudersburg. The aromas here, however, suggest ripe, exotic, tangy fruit, almost botrytised. The palate shows good depth but again botrytised, tangy characters, and the acid balance seems most bizarre. As far as fruit quality and purity are concerned, questions are raised. Muffled fruit and modest persistence do little to convince. 10.5
Alexander Scott: Definitely more aromatic interest here, spices (allspice?) and heather honey, with the suggestion of real depth and complexity in reserve, teasing and tempting back for more. Vibrantly alive on the palate; instantly arresting but also very, very sustained, with palate-staining intensity, very creamy texture and an endless yet controlled finish. Great wine. 18.5
