Andrew Jefford: Full yellow -gold. Warm, full, sweet, entrancing aromas, elegant and fresh, with delicate floral notes of daffodil and iris. Perhaps also a tickle of TCA, alas (bottle 1). Bottle 2 was better. Full, vivid, exuberant, deep. Lots of ripeness here, so the palate brings together the appetising malic qualities of ripe apple and something more tartaric (grapes), with a kind of apricot ripeness, also. Invigorating and deep. Time will bring a little more subtlety, I hope. 16.5
Simon Larkin : Appearance-wise on a par with the von Buhl Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad. The aromas are rather disenchanting, suggesting tinned exotic fruit. The palate exudes greater freshness, certainly rich, again pithy in character. Moderately persistent, though lacking any real harmony on the finish. A real bite of acidity, too. Sound though uninspiring. 12.5
Alexander Scott: This is another big wine from the word go. There must surely be residual sugar here as well. It lacks the tightly woven core of the Reichsrat von Buhl Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad. Enjoyable, but nowhere near the same potential. 15.5
