Simon Field: Elegant gradations of colour and an attractive and articulate nose with the floral notes perfectly harmonious. Textured and silky, developing beautifully and coming round over the next few years. A wine that captures the ripeness of the vintage without indulgence. Chocolate with a slice of fruitcake. A very impressive effort. 17.5
Andrew Jefford: Slightly clearer, more evolved appearance than its peers. Sweet, creamy, meaty... fair, but not sublime. Full and fat, the fruit quite jammy. It lacks depth, freshness and purity for this vintage, though it is a tasty and exuberant glass of Port. 14
Richard Mayson: Mid-deep centre, broad purple rim. Hollow and slightly rustic on the nose but still withdrawn. Slightly hollow on the palate, with some depth but lacking the core of the other 1992s. Rich but slight stewed fruit on the finish. Bittersweet length. Drink 2010-2020. 15.5
