Simon Field: Amber with tints of russet. Gentle, slightly reticent nose (a little cold). Palate combines herbal notes with hints of nutmeg and orange peel. Delicate and dignified sweetness, and a clean elegant finish. 16

Richard Mayson: (Tasted after the 30-/40-year-old flight) Mid-tawny, rather angular, spirity nose, slightly thin. Quite delicate and dry in style but lacking delicacy. 13

Margaret Rand: Lovely nutty, creamy nose. Palate creamy, too: coffee and walnut mousse. This is a pleasurable wine but not outstanding. 15.5
