Nicolas Belfrage: A wood-smoke element on the nose, together with a lot of concentrated fruit: sour and black cherry. With side-to-side acidity, it has a finish of some power and elegance. Drinking soon, because it may not last a long time. 90
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny. Fairly oxidized, decadent, animal nose. A simple palate. 84
Andrew Jefford: Deep, clear black-red. A little bit oxidized; let’s try a second bottle. The second bottle doesn’t seem oxidized as the first does, but now it seems to have a drainsy quality. Some evident inconsistency here. On the palate, the fruit is sweet-ripe but lacks balance and harmony. It is, however, concentrated and has considerable depth and tannic power, so I can’t say that this is a bad or even faulty wine. 80
