Nicolas Belfrage: Pretty deepish color. Up-front herby-minty aromas emerging. Very ripe, somewhat rich palate of plum and berry, with slightly granular tannins and middling acidity. Although it is somewhat untogether on the palate, that’s not surprising at this stage. However, the tannins are slightly crude and teeth-coating. There is plenty of fruit behind though. Medium length, more chunky than pretty. 15
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny. Intense, mineral nose, layered fruit, with prunes, blackberries, smoked meat, and hints of lavender. Mature, medium to full body, with fine tannins, lively acidity, and long, mineral palate. 17.5
Andrew Jefford: Dense black-red. Warm red fruits shaped by cellar wood: plum and vellum, the orchard and the library. On the palate, this is a much bigger and more generously contoured wine than I had intuited from the aroma. Round, long, and vivacious, teased to a perfection of ripeness, with generous yet soft tannins. Gratifying, yet at the same time complex and classical: excellent. No false notes at all; pure pleasure. 17.5
