BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Charming, peachy nose, waxy, lightly honeyed, a hint of oak. Medium-bodied, perhaps a touch light, delicate rather than powerful, but the wine retains some piquant acidity that keeps the palate lively. Nonetheless, the wine lacks some structure and persistence, and the lack of acidity is evident on the finish. Medium length. Shows the restrained elegant style of this property, but not at its very best. 16

Michael Schuster: Mid-gold; closed, minerally, waxy nose; beautifully balanced middleweight Sauternes, no weakness, no excess; sweet without being intensely so, rich, elegant, long in the mouth, quite complex, delicately spicy and with excellent length. Absolutely harmonious. A middleweight wine in this weightily rich vintage, but none the worse for that. Classic proportions, and likely to age long and gracefully. 16.5+
