BUY THE WINE

Michael Schuster: Dense to smell, ripe blackcurrant fruit and minerals; moderately rich, fresh, gently fleshy, with a very fine tannin; ripe, easy, succulent, freshly sweet blackcurrant Cabernet flavor, a hint of gravel aromas, a nice length of flavor; a subtle racy complexity, fine texture and fine length of aftertaste, reflecting the ripe fruit, and gentle mineral aromas. Most appealing. Accessible early, but so harmonious, it will keep well. A sort of 1990 with more finesse? 2022–35. 89–91

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: This wine is a bit in the same case as Croix de Beaucaillou, because it is overshadowed by the grand vin, that comes from another sector of the property, the Grand Enclos. With the 2010, we remember a more accomplished wine. 95–96
