Andrew Jefford: Dense black-red. Fresh, lively, cedary, with a touch of cardamom and licorice spice: very fine and grown-up already. Deep, vivid, and fine, with a long fruit core of fresh ripeness rather than lavish ripeness. The tannins are soft and accessible; great fruit purity and poise. There’s almost nothing wrong with this wine, save that it comes from a quietly spoken vintage and that it doesn’t go far beyond fruit. But the fruit from this place on earth, remember, has a rare intrinsic complexity—a very fine effort. 2018–26. 91
Michael Schuster: Ripe blackcurrant Cabernet to smell, new oak-tinged, but still fairly closed; medium-full, fresh, finely tannic; flavory to taste, a fairly brisk Cabernet style, but with a gentle complexity and nice length; good, rather than special, lacking a little depth when compared with the best expression of this cru. 2018–28+. 88
