Michael Schuster: Black-purple; very minerally Cabernet Sauvignon to smell, with just a hint of herbal from the Cabernet Franc. Lovely balance; elegant, vital, fresh, and with an almost delicately refined tannin; classic claret in flavor and style; very ripe red fruit to taste. Flowing, fresh, surprisingly floral in the fineness of its fruit—a fragrance that covers the mouth and throat on the finish; superb, fragrant length. A really lovely Clos du Marquis; very classic style and proportions, the year notwithstanding; classy, complex, and fine. Likely to be accessible relatively early. 2018–30+. 16.5/17
