Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, bright with attractive garnet tints. Wild cherry and herb hinted at on the nose. Good acidity and ripe tannins on the palate but a little closed, a certain metallic character on the finish, medium length. Yet one suspects a possible sleeping beauty behind the current display. Certainly it’s not overripe, like so many others. 16
Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny rim. Broad, mineral nose, with oriental spices, smoke, leather, Bing cherries, and a touch of rosewater. Medium to full body, with balanced, complex, sweet red-fruit palate and elegant character, with superb tannic grip on the finish. A truly classy Sangiovese. 18.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. Rather shy, aromatically. Orchards and beehives, but they are just over the way... so not forthcoming. But what is there is full of class. Pure, sustained, and elegant currant and plum fruits in a mid-weight frame. Delicious, choicely ripe Brunello, if a little less complex than the best of its peers. 15
