Tim Atkin: dense garnet, with a hint of orange. closed, tightly wound nose, with a lot of underlying power. rich, savory, fresh acidity; still quite closed on the palate, too, but a serious wine. Still young, with savory/sweet flavors, medium-weight tannins, and a refreshing, clove spice finish. 16

Nicolas Belfrage: Quite a deep color but not suspiciously so. good, clean, if not very exciting aromas. Very “sour cherry” on the palate, with the accent slightly on the “sour”; perfectly correct, ripe, and nervous: grows on you, with good length and character. drink from 2014 for 10 years+. 15.5

Bruno Besa: deep garnet to tawny rim. mature, complex, elegant red-and- black-fruit nose, very intense, with bright, compact, layered fruit. medium to full body, with great, fine tannins and a long, sweet, red-fruit finish. a classy brunello. 17.5
