Jesús Barquín:Ruby red with brown-amber rim. Candied fruit on the nose, apple tart, cinnamon. Markedly sweet and a tad alcoholic on the palate, with a spicy background that confers depth to the wine. Long finish, complex, but with a marked presence of alcohol. 91
Andrew Jefford:Clear yet deep, with plenty of russet lingering. Rich, dense, deep, and orchestral aromas, a woodwind of fruits, a string section of cask-aged refinements. Compelling and satisfying. It’s deep and rounded on the palate, too, and slightly more brassy than I was expecting: concentrated, yet just a little bit hard and forceful, whereas you hope that aged Tawny will be all gentle caresses. An exciting glass of wine nonetheless. 88
Richard Mayson:Mid-deep core, tawny rim; rich, seemingly quite hefty in style on the nose, with some rich, sweet, honeyed fruit; full but suave on the palate, complete and mouth-filling, with a full, spicy finish. Round and satisfying. 88
