Stephen Brook: Very deep red, with only a trace of evolution on the rim. The nose is dumb, though the oak shows through. There’s a fine attack, giving a lean but concentrated profile to the wine, which is spicy and has assertive but not harsh tannins and some vibrancy. Blackcurrant dominates the fruit, as well as some cool chocolate-mint freshness. Overall, this is a refined and still youthful wine, with a long, delicate finish. 17.5/18
