Michael Schuster: Absolutely lovely nose of ripe blackberry fruit, licorice, and minerals, really complex, very fine; rich, fleshy, firmly structured, and beautifully balanced singlequinta Port; a wonderful combination of deep, richly sweet, pepper-backed juiciness of fruit and muscularity of texture without coarseness, where the fleshy-ripe flavor is put into focus by its fine tannin and clear, minerally aromatic element; long in the mouth, long and sweet and even to finish. This is now a powerful but refined and complete expression of its particular terroir, the finest Panascal to date, and a very long way from the 1991, 1996, and 1998. 2018–40 (September 2010). 18
