Michael Schuster: Soft, fruity nose, faintly baked, faintly licorice; clear “hot” origin but not in an unpleasant way; lovely balance in the Panascal style: rich, muscular, abundantly fruity, but elegance showing here, too; sweet, long, complex, even, and complete, with excellent peppery persistence. This will be a juicy charmer in its firmer mold, but in this vintage there is real harmony for the first time, a clear advance in class on the 1991. 2014–30 (September 2008). 16.5
