Jesús Barquín: Light color. Wild strawberries, raw meat, Grenache aromas, kirsch, and a finishing hint of fermenting apple pulp. Different. Hard to rate in this context. We disagree: Luis Gutiérrez likes it more than I do. 16

Simon Field: Gentle Garnacha color, a touch volatile and tired. Hint of oxidation. Palate confirms this; the acidity has successfully invaded the structure, which is a shame. 13

Jancis Robinson: Mainly Garnacha, it is thought, at this stage. A very early vintage from this estate—maybe even the first. Pale to mid-ruby. Sweet gunpowder nose. Reminds me just a little of those old Russian wines! Very unusual. Then lots of acidity and very much drying out. Definitely not appetizing. Drink 1982–96. 14
