Tim Atkin | Slightly evolved on the nose. Chalky and savory, spicy, and a little dry, with evolving fruit flavors. Very much an Atlantic-year style. Acid- driven. | 90
Simon Field | Deep ruby, brick at the rim; nose of spruce, strawberry, and plum, volatility and evolution underwrite the ensemble; firm acidity, fruit evolving apace; hints of chocolate and fig. The palate is a touch disjointed, evolving quickly. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red. Sweet, tertiary-style aromas here: earthy, rich, almost truffle-like, with a little incipient menthol. Perhaps, though, the fruit has faded just a little more than one would like, and there is a sense that the aromatic profile is tiring, though it still offers much to enjoy. Vivid and lively on the palate, and still with plenty of polar energy from fruit acids and softened tannins, but the core of warmth is beginning to ease back now. The oak effects with the mellowed fruits are very impressive, nonetheless. | 90
