Nicolas Belfrage: Surprisingly deep, but some slight turn on the rim. Hint of truffles on nose, but also strawberry. In the end, it’s got good acidity and sufficient tannin; interesting if not totally typical fruit (at least it’s not overoaked). Has class and character. Falls down a bit on typicity, but hey… Drink now to 2020 - 15.5
Stephen Brook: Deep plum red. Muted nose, damsons, some spice—not very expressive. Mediumbodied, supple, almost silky. Is it bland or elegant? I think the latter, thanks to fine acidity on the mid-palate and tannins that are present without being hard. This blossoms on the palate, with a wonderful texture and sense of harmony. Very long and stylish - 18
Jancis Robinson: Straightforward bluish crimson. Simple sweet tea-leaf aroma. Sweet palate entry. A bit too sweet for me. Not exactly haunting! But it would certainly stand up to food... A little drying on the finish. Drink 2014–19 - 14
