Nicolas Belfrage: Less deep than most, bright. Fresh fruit on the nose, mainly cherry, attractive. Not particularly concentrated in the mouth, but with a certain intensity, this is a wine of charm rather than of power. Good length and zero bitterness, attractive acid-fruit balance, you could drink it now or lay it down for years. From 2017. 90
Stephen Brook: Fairly deep red. Intense linear red-fruits nose, poised and exquisite. Medium-bodied but silky and intense, a pure style with drive and finesse, though there are underlying tannins. There’s nothing flashy about this for all its discretion, and it has impressive limpidity and clarity of fruit. Understated, perhaps, but beautifully composed and balanced, with great length and considerable ageing potential. 94
Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red, with some bricking at the edges. Soft, warm, perfectly ripened red berries, ruffled a little by time. A touch of incense here. Deep, intense, vivid, long, round, and detaining: exactly what you hope for, and very drinkable. Probably not far off being ready: The acidity is not tyrannical, and the tannins are softer than most. All the notes are right, and my score seems almost mean for an utterly convincing Brunello Riserva. 85
