Stephen Brook | The cherry-scented nose is delicate and fragrant. This is a more graceful style, fine- limbed and delicate, perhaps underpowered but showing considerable finesse and nimble tannins. There’s a welcome freshness on the palate, too. But it’s not that structured and lacks some force and vibrancy on the finish. Quite long. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Deep, clear garnet-red. Warm, fresh, yet sweet, with ample summer-day expansiveness to it. Very harmonious and rounded. A touch of lavender behind the bay; some hay in the loft. Curranty and plummy; smooth-milled tannins, and coolish fruits with plenty of poised, fresh acidity. The testament of age: not a wrinkle in this seamless wine. Ample concentration for the mid- to long term. Satisfying and qualitative; poised and fresh. You won’t be disappointed if you are looking for a classic Brunello with plenty of 2016’s freshness. | 91
Michael Palij | Pronounced nose of attractive creamy notes including vanilla, sawdust, and Sherry allied to raspberry, black cherry, and coal tar. In the mouth, the tannins overwhelm the fruit leaving a rasping finish with no generosity. It is short and simple. | 88
