SF | Exceptionally pale, barely meriting the 'gold' descriptor...watery rim too...the nose is fresher than some, straw and grapeskins and behind that guava and a hint of tangerine, The palate is a little foursquare, the sugar and acidity struggling in a stand-off, the fruit pleasant enough but only marginally informed by the cerebral rigour offered by full-blown botrytis. Picking dates key in 2019 and there was little margin for error! 87
AJ | A bright mid-gold. Clean, restrained, softly honeyed, sappy too, with delicate pineapple and creme anglaise: biding its time a little. Delicious on the palate: clean and lean-lined, with ample, gratifying sugars in shapely Barsac style. Not yet "complex", but you could wait a year or two here and see how things develop.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2031. 89
