Stephen Brook: Discreet apple and apricot nose, evident varietal character though scarcely mineral. Lean, discreet, a more delicate style, which is what one wants from Auslese. Well balanced, with elegant acidity; poised and persistent. Good length. 17.5
Margaret Rand: Penetrating acidity, peachy, rich, elegant, and linear; very long. The nose is terrific—smoky, mineral, and refined—and it’s a wine of great breed and finesse. Quite a tight palate, with great depth. 18
Jancis Robinson: Strong mineral/slate notes with a punch of sweetness plus clearly delineated acidity and lots of lime-syrup flavor. Quite a bruiser by Mosel standards. Real lift on the nose but no extraordinary persistence. Drink 2010–18. 18
