Stephen Brook: Sprightly, tangy nose, little evident botrytis, but has fine varietal character and some underlying minerality. Fairly rich but medium-bodied and a bit slack; reasonable acidity and bite, but it’s all rather superficial. If there are hidden depths to be plumbed later, I’m not aware of them. Quite good length. 14.5

Margaret Rand: Balanced, elegant, taut, and tight; vigorous and very, very good. Lively, complex, fascinating, moreish. Sparky and elegant. Great finesse, too. 17.5

Jancis Robinson: Pale green-gold. Full and expressive, and very clean and scrubbed and naked. Lots of acidity and lift and freshness. Masses of acidity! Pure tarte tatin flavors—butter and apples. Very frank, even if not one of the sweetest. And arguably rather simpler than the other Rheinhessen Auslesen… Drink 2011–20. 17
