Stephen Brook: Lime-cordial nose, with an alluring confected tone—i.e., boiled sweets but without the sickliness. Fresh, lean, silky, understated; lovely texture and purity, highly classic, with plenty of racy acidity. Not a flashy style but has the balance and finesse to age well and interestingly. Long. 18.5

Margaret Rand: Rich, elegant, mineral, still quite transparent to the palate. Mineral, marzipan, complex. Very, very long. 17

Jancis Robinson: Firm nose, but this is definitely earthbound in comparison with the Mosel Beerenauslese tasted immediately before it [Weingut Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Beerenauslese]. Great delicacy and freshness nevertheless—rather less obvious sweetness than some of the Nahe Auslesen. Still astringent on the finish. For the moment it is a bit like glucose syrup. Certainly not subtle—yet. A little soft on the finish. Drink 2013–25. 17
