BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Dense, youthful, concentrated color. Very oaky, masses of fruit, good acidity, probably low-yielding, old-vine fruit, but somehow this lacks elegance and finesse. A bit blocky and four-square. Dry finish. High alcohol, high extract. Impressive without being enjoyable. Modern. 13

Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry, just short of black. Despite its unmistakably excessive aspect, there is also a note of classicism in its aromatic range. Raw power coexists with a certain subtlety on the nose (graphite and fine leather), as wel as dusty tannins that make it very attractive, though the finish detracts a little for its boldness. Modern. 16.5

Marcel Orford-Williams: Deep color. Rich, blackberry fruit. Could be classy Languedoc. Fabulous fruit. Very rich, sweet, concentrated. Still very young and still evolving. But into what? The finish is wonderful. New-style. 18.5
