Nicolas Belfrage: Very attractive, vibrant, mid-depth color, with definite garnet notes. Subtle, floral, elegant on the nose, clean and pure and inviting you in. Nicely balanced palate, combining power and grace, tannins fully ripe, and acidity beautifully balanced. Some tar on the finish, lots of fruit, and very good length. 17
Andrew Jefford: Red-black at core to clear garnet at the rim. Lots of creamy vellum on the nose; fleshy and enticing. Not quite white truffle, but not a long way off. Vivid, deep flavors with soft tannins; most of the primary excitement is over now, but the secondary flavors have presence and poise. Well crafted and satisfying. I can see this growing in articulacy over a decade, and the aromatic precision will keep it on the right track. 15.5
Franco Ziliani: Splendid, intense, and bright ruby color. Very charming. Bouquet is rich, elegant, and complex. Full of different notes: plum, raspberries, blackcurrant, licorice, rosemary, and underbrush, rich and warm but fresh. A bouquet that invites you to drink. The attack on the palate is rich, warm, broad, and harmonious, with a great structure. Full-bodied, velvety and silky tannins, and a very balanced acidity that gives freshness and energy to the wine. Long, long finish, for a great, classic Barolo to drink and to hold for years in the cellar. I like it so much. 18.5
