Nicolas Belfrage: Medium deep. Uneventful nose. A mouthful of fruit but the parts not now coming together. Has the components to come together. Try again in 2015. 15
Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red to clear garnet rim. The fruit here is very slightly raisiny; it also, I have to say, has a very alluring, incense-laden quality, like wandering into a packed church after the thuribles have been flying. A little bit baroque and over the top, but great fun. On the palate, this is a ripe and richly constituted wine whose fruits almost have a crunchy sugar crust to them. In the mouth, though, that quickly subsides, and the more profound Nebbiolo allusions come to the fore: glowing embers, twigs and bark, plum skins, the lit cigar. Very satisfying, generous wine that appeals to my coarsely sensual nature. 16.5
Franco Ziliani: Good intensity of color, but the nose is not particularly expressive or well defined. Shows ripeness and intensity of fruit. Broad and rich on the palate, but the tannins exhibit some dry and bitter aspects and lack elegance and harmony. 15
