Stephen Brook | Relatively light color and a bit frail on the nose, but there is delicate and reticent red fruit. This is a medium-bodied Brunello, but firm tannins on the mid-palate give backbone and structure. The finish is more assertive than the attack, and there’s sufficient if not dazzling acidity. Quite long, with some purity of fruit on the finish. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Translucent deep red-black. Warm, almost roasted red fruits, woodland dust, and dry mushrooms. Lively, balanced: plenty of aromatic energy. Concentrated, ample deep fruits, warm and long. A wine with a beautiful, seamless, sustained core of fruit to it, authoritative and assured. Very fine and very complex, though the seamlessness almost conceals that fact. Ample acidity and fine-grained tannins, too: complete. | 93
Michael Palij | A delicate nose of red fruit including wild strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, licorice, and graphite. On the palate, this delivers a sensational mouthful of perfectly judged tannins and acidity supported by the warming alcohol and concentrated fruit. Any oak has already been completely gobbled up by the fruit, and together they contribute to an exceptionally long and ripe, rounded finish. A virtuoso performance. | 98
