Stephen Brook | The nose is reticent, with some apple and delicate citrus aromas. There’s a delightful silkiness and creaminess on the attack, with fine concentration and ample flair from the acidity. Quite weighty for Barsac, it still retains tension and drive. There’s an excitement here not always present in this vintage, and the finish is long and charming, with mandarin tones. | 94

Andrew Jefford | Very pale light gold at present. Just a slight reduction in the glass, but if you peer beyond that, you’ll find scents of fresh lemon tart and crème anglaise. A touch of ginger, too. Glycerous, full, and concentrated in the mouth, with lots of tightly gathered flavors, this detailed Sauternes is still marshalling its forces but will have much to offer in half a decade. | 92
