Bruno Besa | Saturated ruby to garnet. Open, mature, black and red fruit, with cedarwood, black cherries, smoked red meat, and earthy undertones. Full-bodied, ripe palate, with black-cherry jam, large-scale tannins, and a clean finish. A big boy, not for the faint-hearted! | 91
Andrew Jefford | Very deep black-red, just off opaque now. Classically forthcoming, vigorous fruits, with some development, and by no means super-ripe in style: lively and fresh. Warm earth and glowing kindling; the underbrush in evidence. Deep, close-knit, textured, and long, with all of those underbrush and dried-mushroom notes lending complexity to fruits that are already beginning to move along the maturation trajectory. A super wine with a huge amount to give, and stylistically very well-judged, with nothing in excess and all the nuances teased forward. Vivid acidity and sumptuous, fruit-bonded tannins underscore the harmony of fruit. | 94
Anthony Rose | Medium ruby; attractive aromas, with dark fruit and herb in the ascendant; the palate, too, is richly endowed with flavorsome ripe dark- berry fruits tinged with herb and a light dusting of oak; very good weight and volume, all sitting in a nicely proportioned framework of well-judged tannins and freshness. Hard to argue with this one. | 92
