Neil Beckett | Even finer than the excellent village Chassagne is this scintillating wine from the highest premier cru at the southern end of the village, whose altitude was helpful this hot year, allowing it to be picked relatively late for perfectly balanced freshness and flavor. Pale lemon-gold. A very attractive nose, not at all marked by the wood (one of the four barrels was new): delicate, gentle citrus scent, finely floral, lightly iodine, saline. A beautiful consistency, dense and rich, but with more than enough balancing intensity and purity, precision and tension, so there is scale and subtlety but no excess weight. | 93
