Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Intense, clean, black-tea, and mature black- and red-fruits nose, with leather, road tar, mediterranean herbs and smoke. Full body, with intense tannic structure, a touch overripe fruit, with good length. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Very pale and translucent: a light, thinned- blood red. Dry, lifted, graceful, pure, serene, and understated; teasingly soft scents of rice, grass, and dry-leaf litter, with cherries and pomegranate hidden away in a wooden punnet. Enticing if understated. On the palate, it is curranty, frankly dry in style, light, refined, searching, long, graceful, and allusive, with much of the impressive aromatic complexity resurfacing inside the sculpted, aquiline palate. Very classic, very refined, very good—unless you are looking for “flesh” in which case you will be disappointed. But there are other excellent wines in that style. | 92
Michael Palij | Pronounced nose, with cranberry, strawberry, black cherry, and plum. Palate has a fine persistence, with the crisp acidity and drying tannins held in check by the fruit. This will develop well. | 90
